The mission of OCAB Community Action Agency, Inc. is to eliminate the causes and conditions of poverty in the service area by developing strategies to ensure a better quality of life for disadvantaged and underserved residents.
OCAB develops and focuses resources to (1) attack the causes of poverty by helping low income families and individuals acquire the skills, knowledge and opportunities needed to become economically self-sufficient; (2) alleviate the conditions of poverty by helping people meet basic and emergency needs; and (3) foster social and economic development in Orangeburg, Calhoun, Allendale and Bamberg Counties.
Current programs include: Project Head Start, Senior Companion Program, Emergency Assistance, Energy Assistance, WIA Project CORE (employment and training for youth), and HIV Prevention Program.
OCAB Community Action Agency, Inc. is "LINKED FOR ACTION" to help meet needs in our communities, and achieve equality, dignity and opportunity for the disadvantaged.
