Project Head Start
Head Start is a pre-school program for three, four and five year olds from low income families, including chilldren with disabilities. This program promotes the cognitive, physical, emotional, psychological and social growth and development of children, and helps parents to set and reach goals that help their children and the whole family achieve their potential.
Employment and Training
Project CORE (Create Opportunities and Resources for Excellence) provides instruction in basic skills and pre-employment competencies, followed by paid work experience for 14 to 21 year olds year round.

Community Services
Participants in the Employability Program learn how to obtain, maintain and upgrade employment. General Emergency Assistance helps customers meet emergency needs such as food, medicine or eviction prevention and helps people access other community services. Neighborhood Service Centers are OCAB's outreach offices for rural residents.
HIV Prevention
The OCAB Tri-County HIV Prevention Collaboration sponsors health education activities to help curb the spread of HIV/AIDS. Youth ages 13-24 serve as volunteer Peer Educators; Health Advocates conduct free counseling and testing.

Energy Assistance
Eligible families may receive funds to help pay fuel and utility costs under the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Project (LIHEAP). Customers may also get assistance to meet crisis needs for winter heating and summer cooling. Enrollment periods vary. Call the Central Office or a Neighborhood Center for more information.
Senior Companion
Volunteers ages 55 and over serve as part-time companions to elderly adults at home and in other community settings. They provide respite for family caregivers and help seniors maintain independent living.
